VALUES TO GUIDE MY LIFE

Discipline: don’t be deterred by failure. stick to the task. learn from mistakes.

Conscience: be aware of, and pay attention to, the quiet voice of my inner spirit.

Responsibility: focus on what I can do to better my condition and improve myself.

Compassion: help those in distress. do not judge or rate others or myself.

Patience: be slow to anger or judge. see things from another’s perspective. listen.

Balance: avoid extremes of emotion, thought or conduct. follow the “middle way.”

Honesty: tell no lies. always speak the truth, but in a kind and gentle way.

Integrity: live with conviction. say what I mean and mean what I say.

Authenticity: generate decisions based on reasoned reflection. question authority/tradition.

Natural: prefer nature’s way to that of the artificial. harmonize with Universal Spirit.

Focus: live deliberately. conform thoughts, goals, values and actions to one another.

Tenacity: follow the right and reasonably course, regardless of obstacles or fear.

Benevolence: do only good. promote and nurture all Life. refrain from violence in any form.

Awareness: take time to examine my thoughts and the process which underlie them.

Openness: be receptive to other viewpoints. learn from experience and criticism.

Forgiveness: let it be. don’t let the sun set on a grudge or hurt feeling. apologize.

Thanksgiving: in private, thank the Creator for all the blessings of my life. share His gifts.
